One of the garment producing countries is also the world's second largest denim production country, the third largest producer of knitted fabrics and the fifth largest producer of garments.

Brazil textile and garment practitioners have 1 million 500 thousand people, more than 30 thousand enterprises.

The high cost of labour in Brazil is one of the reasons for the development of its textile industry.

The minimum monthly salary of Brazil textile workers was raised to 130~152 US dollars in April 2006.

In 2008, Brazil spent an average of $252 per person on clothing and shoes.

Brazil cotton occupies a very important position in the world. Its annual output ranks sixth in the world and its export volume ranks fourth.

The cotton planting area in 2009/2010 is between 753 thousand and 400 ~80.56 hectares and less than that in 2008/2009.

The quality of cotton production in Brazil is good, the fiber length (UHM) distribution is wide, the structure is reasonable, and a certain export proportion has been maintained.

Because cotton exports are promising, Brazil will further control the cost of cotton in the future, continue to increase cotton production efficiency, and increase the cultivation of renewable cotton.

The cotton processing industry in Brazil is well developed to meet domestic needs. The cotton textile industry is self-sufficient, the annual output of cotton yarn reaches 1 million tons, and the cotton fiber has certain competitiveness internationally, and the annual export volume varies from 30 thousand tons to 300 thousand tons.

The production of Brazil coarse denim is very large. The monthly output is 45 million meters, of which 10 million meters are used for export.

Brazil has an advantage in producing jeans and knitted products such as cotton knitted fabrics, but it is lagging behind in man-made fiber clothing.

China is the main cotton export market in Brazil.

Since 2007, China's imports of Brazil cotton yarn and cotton fabrics have been greatly reduced, but the import of raw cotton has been increasing year by year.

In 2009, China was the largest supplier of textiles in Brazil, amounting to US $1 billion 369 million, and India and Indonesia ranked second and three in terms of US $313 million and US $293 million respectively.
