The two-year Chongqing international clothing festival, after more than 10 years of development, has become an indispensable platform for boosting the rapid development of Chongqing's garment industry, promoting and enhancing the city's image and enriching the material and cultural life of the citizens. It has become a beautiful business card showing the Chongqing garment enterprises and the city's image.

At the same time, the garment industry in Chongqing has been developing rapidly, achieving the three western first.


The total industrial output value of clothing industry in Chongqing has increased from 4 billion 300 million yuan in 1997 to 17 billion 500 million yuan in 2009, and the annual growth rate has increased from 10% to over 25%.

At present, Chongqing garment enterprises have developed to 3820, and the number of employees has increased from 120 thousand to 220 thousand.


After ten years of development, the clothing industry in Chongqing now has three western regions, the first is the industrial scale of the western region.

The second is the design ability of the western region. It has formed a team of designers from Sichuan Fine Art Institute, Southwestern University, Industrial and Commercial University Of Chongqing and a number of institutions of higher learning and vocational secondary schools. Many designers have been trained, and many designers have been pported to the eastern part of China.

The third is the cohesion of professional merchants in the western region. By the end of 2009, the shopping area reached 1 million square meters.

The professional clothing wholesale market has a business area of more than 360 thousand square meters. It receives more than 6 million customers every year, and the purchase amount exceeds 10 billion yuan.
