In the process of recognition, Wenzhou footwear base is the only recognized base in Wenzhou.

In Zhejiang, apart from Ningbo's single row, it has also been selected only for three products: Haoshan sea product base, Hangzhou Xiaoshan chemical fiber textile base and Wenzhou footwear base.

According to the relevant plans of the Ministry of Commerce, China will establish a large number of demonstration bases with strong export effect and obvious industrial advantages in 5~10, and the demonstration bases can be divided into professional demonstration bases, enterprise demonstration bases and comprehensive demonstration bases.

This award is a professional demonstration base. It refers to a specific industrial gathering area that has a strong demonstration and driving effect on the export of related products of the whole country in the domestic similar products, with the export volume, export potential and technology level ranking the highest in the country.

It is understood that the shoe leather industry in Wenzhou now has the largest trading market of cattle hide, pig skin and shoe materials in China, forming a shoe leather industrial system consisting of three main industries of leather shoes, leather and leather goods, leather chemical industry, leather machinery, leather hardware, shoe materials and other supporting industries.

It has won the reputation of "China Shoes Capital", "China skin capital", "China's casual shoes production base", "China's rubber shoes city", "China Shoes Capital women's shoes base" and "China's synthetic leather capital".
