Closing Auction Of US Dollar Exchange Rate

This week, the Australian wool market index closed up. In the auction of Newcastle, Melbourne and Frey Mantell, the average price of wool increased by 0.7%, and the exchange rate of the US dollar increased by 1.1%.

This is the last auction in Newcastle this season.

The price of wool and wool tops in all micron ranges has risen in terms of Australian dollar and US dollar.

In the western market, there was a strong closing on Wednesday, and continued strong trend in the Eastern market on Thursday.

On Thursday, prices fell slightly, mostly in Newcastle's fine wool, while the northern market index closed down 1 Australian cents.


Shepherds responded positively to this better market condition, with no turnover rate of 9.6%, and last week's figure was 20.9%.

In other countries, the Cape wool index fell by 3.1%.

The exchange rate of South Africa's Rand has appreciated by 3.3%.


This week, the number of woolen auctions reached 47102 packages (49584 packages last week), and 9.6% did not deal, of which 8.7% did not deal in Newcastle, 8.7% in Melbourne did not deal, and 12.7% in Frey Mantell did not deal.

The non turnover rates of Merino hair and wool were 9.3% and 11.8% respectively.

This week, the deal was completed.

The quantity of wool available so far this year is 38191 less than that of the same period last year (-2.8%).

At present, estimates for future three auctions show that the gap between year and year has not changed as compared with the same period last year.

Next week's auction will include some wool that was washed away by the price rise three weeks ago.

The quantity of wool can reach 8000 bales.


Flooding in northeastern Vitoria, New South Wales, appears to have delayed wool shearing in some areas, which may affect the supply of wool for some weeks.


The average AWEX of all Merino wool prices rose slightly at each price index.

The fine wool in Newcastle performed best on Wednesday, when the market was the most powerful.

Overall, this week is a good week for fine wool, and fine wool has the greatest impact on the last week.


The average of 24 micron wool is the biggest increase in price index, which has taken the trend of last week.

Last week, 24 micron wool was the only type of wool that did not decline in the average Merino micrometer price index.

This week is a good week for broken wool, on Wednesday.

Prices remain stable on Tuesday and Thursday.
