Indonesian textile industry expects to cut 120000 workers in 2009, according to API.

(API) secretary general Ernovian G Ismay said on Monday that the Association estimates that the proportion of layoffs will reach 10% of the total number of workers in 1 million 200 thousand.

He said that some companies reported layoffs to the Ministry of human resources, while others did not report to the Ministry of human resources.

Ernovian said textile companies are unable to cope with the current financial crisis because they face some typical difficulties, such as electricity prices, market conditions, infrastructure problems, financing difficulties and labor problems.

The government is planning a fiscal stimulus package to help the real estate industry pass through the economic crisis, but the government's measures have not been fully effective.

If the power load peak hour policy is not lifted, textile companies will not feel the benefits of basic electricity price incentives.

If textile enterprises consume less than 350 hours of electricity per month, textile enterprises will not be able to benefit from electricity price incentives.

Textile enterprises run 24 hours, so for textile enterprises, it is impossible to use less than 350 hours per month.
