Textile Enterprises Must Pay Attention To: EU NPE Ban Effective

Recently, the most important thing for textile enterprises to pay attention to is the European Union's adoption.

Ban "NPE" (nonylphenol ethoxylates), that is, the implementation of the NPE ban.

The ban has set a pitional period of five years. After the expiration of the EU, the EU will impose a NPE ban on imported textiles, and the textiles with NPE concentration greater than or equal to 0.01% (100 mg / kg) will be banned from entering the EU market.

It is understood that according to the European Union REACH (

Registration, assessment, authorization and restriction) forty-sixth provision under the annex XVII of the regulations: prohibit the use of products with NPE concentration greater than or equal to 0.1% for textile processing.

But the limitation of NPE content is the first time.

Once the ban is implemented, it will become a new barrier for our textile export.

In this regard, Binzhou entry-exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau advised our city to export to Europe.

First, we must continue to follow the legislation and implementation dynamics of the EU NPE ban and make full use of the international rules such as the WTO/TBT agreement and announce the evaluation methods to enhance communication and consultation with the European Union.

Secondly, we should make full use of the five year pition period to improve and innovate the processes such as bleaching, refining and dyeing, so as to reduce the emissions of harmful substances and speed up the pformation and upgrading of enterprises.

Third is to strengthen product testing efforts.

We should promptly adjust the testing items, enhance the testing ability, ensure that the quality of products meets the requirements of domestic and international regulations and standards, reduce the risk of overseas pportation and notification, and effectively avoid the economic losses caused by them.
