After consultation with one or two countries, the plan to set up a global electricity supplier platform was discussed.

Jack Ma, founder and chairman of Alibaba, said that this will help break down trade barriers.

According to the Hongkong website reported on August 1st, Ma Yun said that he hoped that global enterprises such as Amazon could cooperate and create a new e-commerce platform to link the global small and medium enterprises.

Ma Yun recently said in Beijing that Amazon has done a lot of Global trade. Alibaba respects the company. If both sides can cooperate, it will be great, but he doesn't know if Amazon agrees with him.

In March this year, the Boao forum for Asia, Ma Yun first proposed the concept of creating a global electricity supplier platform, since then has been lobbying companies and governments on other occasions, including the G20 business representatives to attend the group of 20 Business Summit (B20).

Ma Yun said the company is setting up a group to study the rules applicable to the platform, including tariffs and logistics.

Because it will involve many companies from different countries, he expects that the relevant standards will be rather complicated.

He said that if the president of a country appreciates this concept and asks them to submit the plan, they can not be empty handed, so the company is setting up an internal group to prepare rules and legislation in the plan.

Ma expects to discuss the plan with one or two countries after testing the G20 and B20 summit in Hangzhou in September.

He disclosed that the new platform is intended to reduce trade barriers, but unlike the world trade organization, the platform will be organized by the enterprises under the support of the government.

Ma Yun expressed his understanding of the difficulties, and would be willing to invest in decades of efforts to fulfill his vision.

He said that the new global business platform will be an open platform, involving many countries and many people. One of the biggest problems will be to formulate rules of the game, because the rules will be very complicated.

Ma Yun said that the new platform may take twenty or thirty years to achieve results, and it is foreseeable that there will be many challenges ahead.

He said that the new platform is not necessarily held by Alibaba, but the company hopes to participate in the construction work.

Ma Yun likened the work of creating a platform to a relay race, running the first runner by Alibaba, but not running four sticks, but giving it to others.
