How far can Chinese design go? As an ideal designer in China, is your design idea clear? Have you built your own design aesthetics? Is your craft exquisite? Are your materials adequate to express your thoughts? Did your marketing find you even a few but accurate readers?

Most importantly, do you have enough enthusiasm to respect your own creation? Unlike pure works of art, do you have enough patience to communicate with different fields so that your clothes can be seen or understood by people you should accept?

We are exposed to over rich fashion and fashion information. Icon in different fields is releasing their influence globally, and is no exception in China. Many young people in Xinle, Shanghai, Changle Road or Fuxing Road began to build self-made clothing stores. But many times, what I saw was a simplified version of Wakubo Rei's works. Those black, white or military green clothes had too many skills designed for the design, but the details of the fashion were simple and sketchy. The fashion style was not difficult to follow. But the temperament of Comme des Garcons, which is both serious and humorous, is difficult for young Chinese designers to imitate. Many times, your attitude towards a thing will be completely presented through the results of the matter. If you are carefree and extensive, then your design will not be full of details and sense of entirety.

Cost is still a big problem for young designers. Because of the constraints of input, the realization of clothing is bound to be affected. However, this is not only a problem faced by Chinese designers. In London or Madrid, young designers are even more oppressed by big brands. Even a fashion show with only 3000 pounds completed, the independent designers like Emma Cook will call all the enthusiasm to complete. In China, design is becoming an overheated topic, and overseas attention is more than ever. For the upcoming CHINA DEDIGN NOW design exhibition in London in 2008, the curators of the V & a museum frequent frequent visits with London and China. The Chinese contemporary art exhibition just launched in Holland has also joined the fashion design section. The fact is that the most important problem faced by Chinese young designers is not to participate in all kinds of art exhibitions, but how they survive in this market and how to make more people understand their works. After all, design is more closely related to reality.
